Craig yeung

Craig has been interested in technology ever since opening up his father's Apple II+ in primary school.  He was also a promising chess player, violinist and pianist before deciding to focus on law. 

Since then, Craig has found himself closing M&A deals, working on company listings/IPOs in the late 1990's, closing US flip ups and Series A and equity raisings and IPOs on the ASX and AIM in the early/mid 2000's, closing listed companies takeover and merger transactions and raising hundreds of millions of dollars of capital in private and ASX raisings in the late 2000's, and more recently specialising in corporate M&A and capital raising transactions for small/mid-market clients. 

Craig is listed in the The Best Lawyers in Australia for Corporate Law for 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, and for Commercial Law for 2024He is also listed in Doyle's Guide for Corporate Lawyers and Commercial Lawyers for 2020, 2021 , 2022, 2023 and 2024, and for Intellectual Property and Technology, Media and Telecommunications Lawyers for 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022.  He has also been "recommended" and "highly recommended" in 2014 and 2015 in Asia Pacific Legal 500 for Corporate and M&A, and clients that were surveyed singled out Craig as "knowledgeable" and a "corporate governance specialist".

Outside of the office, Craig enjoys skateboarding, snowboarding and surfing, and is a closet music producer.

Marcus Liew

Lawyer

Marcus has returned to legal practice after some years away in the finance industry, having gained his legal experience from overseas in a private specialist media and entertainment firm and then later in-house with Electronic Acts, the world’s largest gaming company, as part of their Asia Pacific Legal team.

With broad commercial and corporate experience, during his time in private practice, he represented a range of clients in the film, music, and other creative industries. Marcus was responsible for providing legal advice, drafting, and reviewing legal agreements including production, recording, licensing, marketing, celebrity engagement and compliance reviews. In his role with Electronic Arts, he was the Legal Approvals Manager Asia Pacific, supporting eleven territories throughout the region. Marcus played a major role in multiple departments within the company to ensure that the use of the company’s intellectual property was consistent with internal policy and local laws. He fondly considers one of his most memorable deals as negotiating and completing the agreement to include an iconic Aussie soccer player image on the pack front of FIFA for Australia.

Marcus enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his German Shepherd Miso, and regularly practices Pilates to keep his mind and body active. He is a long time Arsenal supporter and still brings up the glory days of the “Invincibles” whenever he can.

Ellie Watford

Law Graduate

Ellie is a law graduate and legal researcher in cyber security and corporate law for the University of Adelaide.

After working in communications and marketing for several years across industries including property development, government, not-for-profits, and tourism, Ellie went back to University to study law.

Since then, she has loved learning about the intersection between technology and law. Ellie co-authored ‘I Know Who You Are: the need for a uniform definition of biometric data’ which is published in the Australian Law Journal and was a presenter at the inaugural RUMALE 2023 conference on directors’ duties and cyber breaches.

Ellie also has a deep interest in business, having completed a Bachelor of Business Management, and the Startmate Fellowship to gain a better understanding and insight into Australia’s startup ecosystem.

Outside of work and study, Ellie is usually found outside running with her partner, Hugo and Bordoodle puppy, Thelma!

Olivia Walker

Law Clerk

Olivia is a penultimate Law and Advanced Economics student at the University of Adelaide. A broad range of legal experience has developed her passion for Corporate Law, notably 6 months spent as a Barrister’s Research Clerk in Corporate Litigation and Insolvency. Alongside her formal studies and employment Olivia volunteers for 180 Degrees Consulting Adelaide, leading her team to provide consulting services for various not-for-profits.

When Olivia isn’t studying or at work, you can find her getting coffee with friends, at yoga or pilates, paddleboarding at the beach or spending time with one of her many family members.

Holly Saberton

Law Clerk

Holly is a penultimate Law and International Relations student at the University of Adelaide. She has a passion for business management and supply chain transparency, honed from her experiences in Retail and as a Law Clerk. She spent seven months studying in Italy where she was afforded the opportunity to research into how businesses and companies interact with each other, and the environment; further developing her interest in Corporate Law.

Aside from work and study, Holly will be found at the Bouldering Gym or consuming a pastry and a coffee after a run at the Espy (with her Golden Retriever, Finneas).

Jasmin Chua

Jasmin has been a practicing lawyer for two decades at top-tier law firms including Linklaters in London and Allens in Sydney, as well as holding senior positions in global investment banks and non-bank financial institutions. Jasmin has worked in senior-level legal and commercial roles, structuring and executing both client-facing and investor-facing transactions across all industry sectors in Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia Pacific region. She is skilled in governance and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions and fluent in Chinese (Mandarin).

Jasmin is a fitness fanatic who loves food, fashion and fitness in equal measure. The trick is maintaining the delicate balance between all 3! Her favourite tv show is Survivor and she harbours a not so secret dream to take out the title of Sole Survivor one day.

Pomeranian

Brasov is an experienced senior doggo, with over 16 years experience making the Yeung family happy and blessed.

He has participated in “show and tells” at a number of year levels at the local Primary School with children, and is a favourite at the local soccer club. He loves that everyone still thinks he’s a puppy.

Arctic is a puppa but is getting too heavy now to cuddle. He loves long walks and pats from kids. He wants to surf with his family, but not sure about the waves yet.

He specialises in being a gentle softie wolf, and prides himself on his piercing stares.

Winter is another puppa doing his best to be cute and adorable. He is still trying to hold both his ears up, and it doesn’t work all the time.

He is proud of his enormous webbed feet (for swimming) and his odd coloured eyes.

Miso is massive but super friendly. He loves to follow the team around including into the meeting rooms.

He is very good at chasing balls, which he insists on keeping in the office.

He thinks he’s the best behaved doggo - and he’s probably right.

Bordoodle

Thelma is full of energy and keeps herself busy chasing tennis balls in the office. Unfortunately for the other office dogs, she also likes to destroy said tennis balls.

She loves to cuddle, so if you’re in need of a stress reliever, she’s your girl.
